Understanding your Business Models is core to improving the way you do business.
In management school we learned several useful models for looking at how businesses operate. There were lots of competing models and on any particular consulting assignment I used to wonder which was the right one for me.
Fortunately, last Decade Alex Osterwalder and Yves Pigneur did the research and developed a meta-model; a kind of one model to bind them all. And they developed a tool to help analyse your model.
It's called the Business Model Canvas, and it's a relatively simple lens for looking at what's important in your business, and where you need to improve. It's a great platform for different thinking.
As Deming said, you wont change the results until you change the system.
We'd like to come and spend a few days with you work-shopping your business model and discussing how you could innovate to improve and adapt to new markets.
